Yes, the grill plates will become discolored during grilling. As our plates are made of stainless steel throughout, you can easily clean them after use with a spatula or steel wool. However, traces of burnt-on residue may remain visible despite cleaning.

We recommend the plate with slit openings for meat and fish products. On the full-surface plate, these float on the oil when frying, which leads to a change in taste. The fat drips off through the openings and burns in the firebox.

Variant 1: Cold grill plates

  1. Scrape away the food residue with a spatula.
  2. Spray the grill plates generously with a suitable cleaning agent.
  3. Clean the surface thoroughly with a steel sponge or similar tool.


Variant 2: Hot grill plates

  1. Use the residual heat to clean the plates.
  2. Use a spatula to remove all coarse grill residues.
  3. Carefully pour water onto the hot plates, paying attention to the steam development.
    The thermal shock removes any remaining residues.
  4. Scrape the surface again with the spatula.
  5. Rub the plate with a stainless steel spiral and cleaning agent.
  6. Rinse the grill plate thoroughly with water and a soft sponge.

As this is only the finest ash dust, the ash does not necessarily have to be removed. However, if necessary, the hemisphere can be rinsed out through the air slots using a water hose.
