Placing and caring for your fire bowl: tips for long-lasting enjoyment
To enjoy your new outdoor accessory for a long time, it is important to follow a few basic tips on placement and care. Here you can find out everything you need to know to use your fire bowl safely and effectively.
1. placement instructions for your fire bowl
To ensure that your fire bowl can be operated safely, choosing the right base is crucial. Here are some recommendations and tips for placement:
1.1 Recommended substrates:
-
Gravel area: A gravel area provides a stable base for your fire bowl. To ensure additional stability, place a garden slab on the gravel area and cover it with pebbles.
-
Natural stone or concrete surfaces: These materials are heat-resistant and non-combustible, making them ideal for placing your fire bowl.
1.2 Note on rust coloration:
New fire bowls can initially leave rusty stains, especially on stone slabs. To avoid this, we recommend using a suitable base, for example made of metal.
Suitable substrates:
- Gravel square
- Stone floor
- Concrete base
Not suitable substrates:
- Lawn
- Wooden floor
- Vinyl underlays
The fire bowl must be at least four meters away from flammable or heat-sensitive objects and plants. When placing the fire bowl on grass, please note that the grass can be affected within a radius of around 100 centimeters.
1.3 Tips for placement:
You do not need any tools to assemble the fire bowl. First remove all the accessories from your fire bowl (grill plates, center ring, intermediate base, etc.). Depending on the model, your fire bowl now weighs between 55 and 140 kilograms. Carefully remove the bowl from the wooden pallet and slowly turn it on its side. The fire bowl can rest on its edges without any problems. It is best to place something soft, such as a blanket, underneath to protect the material. Carefully turn the fire bowl over so that the opening faces the ground and makes it easy to lift. Then place the bowl in your desired location. Ideally, wear gloves when placing it.
2. operating instructions for your fire bowl
To use your fire bowl safely and effectively, it is important to know how to use and care for it correctly.
2.1 Commissioning
2.1.1 Preparations
Before using the grill plates for the first time, clean them thoroughly with soapy water and a sponge before rubbing them dry.
2.1.2 Stainless steel grill plate
Stainless steel plates do not require oiling as they are naturally corrosion-resistant. However, oiling before grilling can prevent food from sticking.
Recommended oils:
- Normal cooking oil: rapeseed, sunflower or peanut oil are ideal.
- Coconut oil (refined): This oil gives the grilled food a mild, slightly sweet taste.
2.2 Commissioning a thermo-lacquered fire bowl:
2.2.1 Burn-in
Thermo-lacquered fire bowls must be baked within 10 days of receipt. This strengthens the paint and forms a protective layer against the effects of the weather.
4.4 Care instructions
Regular cleaning and care ensures long-lasting enjoyment and extends the service life of your fire bowl. We therefore recommend cleaning your fire bowl after every use.
4.4.1 Cleaning the fire bowl
-
Cool down: Allow the fire bowl to cool down completely before you start cleaning it.
-
Remove accessories: The grill plates and the center ring can be easily removed for cleaning by lifting them.
-
Rough cleaning: Remove ash, residual wood and coarse dirt with an ash shovel or sweeping set.
-
Fine cleaning: If ash dust has fallen into the space between the bowl through the ventilation slots, you can rinse it out with a water hose if necessary or remove it by taking out the intermediate base.
4.4.2 Cleaning the grill plates
As our grill plates are made of stainless steel throughout, steel wool can be used for cleaning and stubborn stains can be easily removed with a grill cleaner or oven cleaner.
4.6 Storage
To ensure that your fire bowl lasts a long time, observe the following storage instructions:
4.6.1 Weather resistance: Our fire bowls are weather-resistant and can be used outdoors all year round.
4.6.2 Cover: In the event of irregular use, use a fire bowl cover or a tarpaulin to protect the bowl from environmental influences.
4.6.3 Thermo-lacquered fire bowls: Thermo-lacquered fire bowls can also be used outdoors all year round. However, we recommend covering them completely when not in use or storing them in a dry room to protect the paintwork from the weather and extend their service life.
With this detailed information, you are well equipped to use your fire bowl safely and efficiently. Enjoy cozy evenings outdoors with a warm fire and delicious grilled dishes!
